Type your office ZIP. For each school or library: what its Form 470 asks for, the earliest date it may sign and, where USAC has one on file, its last request of that kind: the bids it reported, the provider it chose and the pre-discount cost. Straight from USAC records, in your inbox every Monday.

Median for 3,169 E-rate provider offices in IL, IN, MI, MO, OH, WI, counting distinct schools, libraries and districts with a certified Category 2 Form 470 whose earliest contract date has not passed, within 60 miles (consortium and statewide 470s left out); USAC data of November 7, 2026.

What arrives every Monday

One list of open E-rate network bids near your office

erateradar is a weekly email for IT providers and MSPs that bid on E-rate work. Schools and libraries post a Form 470 when they want bids on Wi-Fi, switches, cabling or managed Wi-Fi. Every Monday you get the open ones we can place within 60 miles of your office, across state lines. On November 7, 2026 that was 778 of 807 open network 470s nationally: 15 had no usable location and 14 named a mandatory site visit or pre-bid meeting that had already passed. What we leave out, and why

When the school has an earlier request of the same kind on file with USAC, its Form 470 comes with what the school reported then: how many bids it got, which provider it chose, and the pre-discount cost. That was 708 of the 778. The same list is on the web and as a spreadsheet.

What it asked for
Quoted from the line items on the school's Form 470. When the form contradicts itself, we leave the number out.
Earliest contract date
USAC's allowable contract date: the first day the school may sign. Not the bid deadline, which is in the 470 or its RFP.
Last time
From the same school's last Form 471 request of that kind: the bids it reported (self-reported), the provider it chose, the pre-discount cost and USAC's status.

How it works

From public records to one Monday list

  1. Set your territory

Your office ZIP, city or company. We draw a 60-mile radius around it that crosses state lines. Where a location is uncertain, bids near the line are listed separately and never counted.

  2. We join the public records

Each open Form 470 is matched to the same school's last Form 471 request and to the provider registry, by BEN and SPIN number, never by name. Every finding is re-checked against the raw USAC rows.

  3. Monday: one list

In your inbox, on the web and as a spreadsheet. Open the 470 from our link, read its RFP and its due date for responses, and decide which bids are worth your time.

Where the data comes from

Public USAC records. Every line links to its source.

Five public USAC Open Data datasets, joined per bid. Offices are placed with the US Census geocoder. The numbers on this page use the USAC data of November 7, 2026.

What the records do not prove: the bid count is what the school reported, the amount is the pre-discount cost (not what was paid), and the earliest contract date is not the deadline.

Questions

What people ask before they try it

What is erateradar?

A weekly list for IT providers and MSPs. Every Monday it sends the open E-rate Form 470 network bids from schools, libraries and districts that we can place within 60 miles of your office. When the buyer has an earlier request of the same kind on file with USAC, it shows what the buyer reported then: how many bids it got, which provider it chose, and the pre-discount cost. Every line links to its USAC record.

Where does the data come from?

From USAC’s public E-rate records on opendata.usac.org: Form 470 bids, the services requested on them, Form 471 funding requests, and the service provider registry. Offices are placed with the US Census geocoder. USAC reloads these records daily; the numbers on this page use the USAC data of November 7, 2026. erateradar is not affiliated with USAC or the FCC.

Where the data comes from, source by source

How accurate is it?

Every finding is re-checked against the raw USAC rows before it is shown. On November 7, 2026, 0 of the 778 open network bids failed that check. When a form contradicts itself, for example a count that is really licences, we leave the number out instead of guessing.

Is the earliest contract date the bid deadline?

No. It is the first day the school may sign a contract. The deadline for responses is in the Form 470 or its RFP, so open the 470 from our link before you bid.

The allowable contract date explained

Does “1 bid last time” mean the school is unhappy with its provider?

No. The bid count is what the school reported on its last Form 471 for that kind of request, and the new request may cover different equipment. Read it as context, not as a weak spot.

Is it allowed to use these records? Will schools see that I looked?

Yes, it is allowed: USAC publishes these datasets under a public domain licence, and a Form 470 exists so providers can find it and bid. E-rate rules still apply to you: do not help write the school’s 470 or RFP, and follow USAC’s gift rules. We contact no school, and your territory stays private to your account.
